A Rite For Leaving
A guided rite for acknowledging what you are leaving, honouring what has been, and marking the threshold into what comes next.
There are moments when it is time to leave: a place that has been home, a role that has shaped our days, a relationship or a chapter that has reached its end.
Sometimes the decision is our own; sometimes it is made for us. Even when leaving is necessary, we may carry sadness, uncertainty or a sense that something deserves to be acknowledged before we go.
A Rite for Leaving offers space to mark that threshold. Through spoken words, sound and reflection, you'll be invited to honour what this chapter has meant to you, consider what you are ready to release, and consciously mark your departure.
This is not about forgetting, forgiving or finding immediate closure. You don't need to feel at peace with what is ending or know exactly what comes next. You can simply acknowledge that something is changing.
What you'll receive
A written Companion PDF to help you prepare, follow the rite and reflect afterwards.
A guided audio experience of approximately 15–20 minutes, with a choice of listening with a gentle soundscape or with voice alone.
Preparing for your rite
Choose somewhere comfortable and safe where you can spend a little time undisturbed. You might bring an object representing what you are leaving, or something that reminds you of what you wish to carry forward. Both are optional.
Allow 15–20 minutes for the audio, with a little extra time afterwards if you'd like to reflect or write. You can arrive with relief, sorrow, uncertainty or a mixture of feelings. If your circumstances are still unfolding, there is no need to make a practical decision during the rite.
Marking the threshold
Leaving doesn't erase what has happened or mean that something never mattered. You can honour what has been part of your life while recognising that your relationship with this chapter is changing. At the heart of this rite is the act of marking your departure in your own way. You don't have to know the whole road ahead. You can take your leave, and then discover what comes next.
Come as you are. Pause. Listen. Cross the threshold.
